Making Great Business Decisions

Updated: Jan 28, 2023

In Proverbs 31, the woman considers the field before buying it. She plans to buy the field to grow a vineyard. From what I've learned about vineyards, they don't yield their first crop for 2-3 years after planting. The consideration here is long term planning, she is making a long term decision. Proverbs tells us that "the plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to want". Make your decisions for the long-term consequence, not the short-term gain. The short term gain is always a shinier, brighter star, only because it's closer in your sight!

It is not about the here and now, it is about the future. About a year ago I published this on LinkedIn. There have been a few people who have copied and published as their own, interesting......😅 Just as the decision to copy and present a post as your own is a short term rush of success, what is the long term decision? Do you make decisions based on today or do you consider the field and the long term view? The short term is brighter, but not always the most valuable.
